The Georgia volleyball team knocked off Tennessee 3-1 (20-25, 15-25, 25-15, 25-19) in Southeastern Conference action on Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn.
The win marked the first time since 2001 that the Bulldogs defeated Tennessee in Knoxville and secured the first season sweep of the Volunteers since 1997.
Georgia (17-7, 7-5 SEC) was led by Brittany Northcutt and Kaylee Kehoe, who each earned double-double performances. Northcutt finished tied for the team lead in kills with 11 and added 12 digs. Kehoe led the team with 29 assists to go along with 10 digs. Tirah Le’au also had 11 kills in the match, while Stacey Smith finished with 10 kills. Jasmine Eatmon and Elena Perri led the Bulldogs defensively, racking up four blocks each. Allison Summers led the team with 16 digs.
Georgia returns to action this weekend when it hosts LSU and South Carolina. The Bulldogs will face LSU on Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the Gamecocks on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
