Blog: Georgia announces spring football awards

Georgia handed out its spring football awards before practices wrapped up.

Center David Andrews and inside linebacker Ramik Wilson were named most valuable players in the spring on each side of the ball.

The most improved player on offense is Greg Pyke, who is holding down the starting right guard job. The most improved on defense is defensive end James DeLoach,.

The Coffee County Hustle Award (most desire) went to receiver Chris Conley and defensive back J.J. Green. The True Grit Award was won by offensive tackle Xzavier Ward. The Hugh Hendrix Memorial Award (player who most strains his potential) was given to quarterback Hutson Mason and outside linebacker Leonard Floyd. The outstanding walk-ons are receiver Kenneth Towns and cornerback Aaron Davis.

The Bulldogs hold their final spring practices Tuesday and Thursday.
