Blog: G-Day time, former Dogs in Texas and winter travel (Updated)

Some Georgia-related items as the countdown to signing day rolls on:

–The G-Day start time is set. The Bulldogs’ spring game is at 1 p.m. on April 16. No word yet on TV.

UPDATE: Georgia says spring practices are tentatively set to begin on Thursday March 10. That will be the only practice until after spring break. The Bulldogs will resume practices on March 22

–In case you were wondering, homecoming is Nov. 5 against New Mexico State.

–Ready for the big game in Texas? Not the Super Bowl, but the NFLPA Game in El Paso. The all-star game, in a Texas vs. The Nation format, includes three former Georgia players.

Cornerback Vance Cuff and offensive tackle Josh Davis join receiver Kris Durham in the game for senior NFL draft hopefuls. The game is at 2 p.m. ET on CBS College Sports Network

Cuff is intriguing. He started only five games in 2010, but ran the fastest 40 time on the team in the spring.

He’s one of eight Georgia players invited to the NFL combine also later this month in Indianapolis.

–The Georgia men’s basketball teams is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. departure today from Athens for its flight to Arkansas, but the forecast calls for Fayetteville to get from four to six inches today. Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to dip to minus-seven degrees, according to Weather.com. The game is at 9 p.m ET on Wednesday.
