Four-star Kell defensive back Langley commits to Georgia

Kell High safety Brandon Langley dropped a months-long verbal commitment to South Carolina on Tuesday and offered one to Georgia.

The switch to the Bulldogs is a big one as Langley (6-foot-1, 186 pounds), who had been committed to the Gamecocks since Aug. 1, was one of South Carolina’s top three committed players, as rated by Fox Sports NEXT. He becomes Georgia’s 11th four-star prospect.

Langley’s commitment pushed Georgia into the top five of Fox Sports NEXT’s national recruiting rankings.

Even though Langley has been committed to South Carolina for months, he has been visible at Georgia, visiting Athens for five Georgia home games this fall.

Langley is now one of eight defensive backs committed to the Bulldogs for the class of 2013. One of the other eight is Langley’s teammate Quincy Mauger, who committed to Georgia in July.

Georgia has 28 commitments and trails only Texas A&M (30) for most in the country. The Bulldogs are expected to sign at least 32 players this February.
