Former UGA players return to old stomping grounds

Among former Georgia players at G-Day Saturday were linebackers Jarvis Jones and Rennie Curran and center Ben Jones.

Receiver A.J. Green, defensive end Justin Houston and linebacker Akeem Dent dropped by the weight room near the end of Pro Day workouts last month.

Now-retired defensive end David Pollack and quarterback David Greene were on hand for a spring practice this year.

“More and more of our players come back,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said. “They come back to hang around the spring game, they come back to graduate, they come back to work out in our facility. They just enjoy being around.”

The Red team won fifth annual lettermen’s flag football game, beating the Black 40-34 when it broke up a pass in the end zone on the final play. Tyson Browning and Fred Gibson were among the former players taking part.
