Former Georgia defensive back Chris Sanders is no longer on the Georgia Military College football team.
GMC coach Bert Williams, returning from a trip to Alaska with his staff, confirmed via text this afternoon that Sanders was dismissed from the team.
Sanders “fell back to his old ways,” according to Williams.
The chances of Sanders returning to Georgia now appear all but gone. Sanders was one of three players kicked off the Georgia team this winter after accusations of a theft in a campus dorm room, but he hoped to return to Georgia.
UGASports.com’s Jake Rowe in a message board post Tuesday night first reported Sanders had been dismissed from the team.
Williams said last month that Sanders had “done a great job in the classroom, he’s done a great job of handling the discipline and the expectations of the cadet corps and our program. He said that “the kid would like the opportunity to be able to get back (to Georgia), but he also understands it may not be in the cards.”
