Noteworthy: The early start is to accommodate nearly 4,000 students from Clarke County elementary schools invited to attend the game. … Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has recorded double-doubles in his last two games. … Caldwell-Pope has led Georgia in scoring in every game and also leads the team in rebounding average at 7.2 a game. … Freshman forward Brandon Morris scored 12 points and had seven rebounds in his first career start against Iona on Saturday. … Marcus Thornton missed the Iona game because of injury. … Both of Georgia’s wins have come at home against Atlantic Sun opponents. Georgia beat Jacksonville 68-62 in the season opener and East Tennessee State 54-38 on Nov. 23. Mercer plays in the Atlantic Sun. … Mercer beat Florida State 61-56 on Dec. 2 at Tallahassee.
