NOTEWORTHY: Nemanja Djurisic is Georgia’s second-leading scorer, averaging 11.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game; Brandon Morris the fourth-leading scorer, averaging 10 points and four rebounds per game. … Freshman Juwan Parker had his first career start against Gardner-Webb and was Georgia’s leading scorer, posting a career-best 12 points in 30 minutes of play; junior walk-on Taylor Echols also received his first start against Gardner-Webb but didn’t score in seven minutes. … Against Gardner-Webb, Donte’ Williams logged his 67th career start and Marcus Thornton started for the 34th time in his career. … Charles Mann returned to the floor against Gardner-Webb after missing time due to a bone bruise; he played 32 minutes and recorded eight points and six rebounds. … After today’s game, the Bulldogs will hit the road, facing Colorado on Dec. 28, George Washington on Jan. 3 and kicking off Southeastern Conference play on Jan. 8 at Missouri. … Georgia outrebounded Gardner-Webb 47-26. … Western Carolina’s Tom Tankelewicz, who has started four games for the Catamounts, came off the bench against Charleston Southern and connected on a school-record 10 3-point attempts; Western Carolina recorded a school-best 20 treys in the game. … Trey Sumler, who was named Southern Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 26 and earned his degree on Dec. 14, averages almost 38 minutes a game for Western Carolina. … Larry Hunter is in his ninth year coaching the Catamounts and is 127-145 in Cullowee and is 636-368 overall in 42 years… The Catamounts have three players from Georgia; sophomore forward Torrion Brummitt (Shaw), junior guard James Sinclair (Savannah) and senior forward Tawaski King (Dublin). … Western Carolina went 14-19 overall and 9-9 in conference play in 2012-13.
