Season at a glance: After an 11-day break during final exams, Georgia looks to find some positive momentum after back-to-back losses at South Florida by 11 and Georgia Tech by eight. Iona is coming off an 81-73 loss to Rutgers on Dec. 8 at Madison Square Garden. The Gaels earned the program’s first at-large bid to the NCAA tournament last season.

Series record: This is the first meeting between the teams.

Noteworthy: Georgia begins a five-game homestand. Both of Georgia’s wins (Jacksonville and East Tennessee State) have come in Stegeman Coliseum. …Georgia coach Mark Fox is 52-52 in his fourth season in Athens. …The Bulldogs shot 31.6 percent in their last outing against Georgia Tech on Dec. 4. …Iona wears an “MH” patch on their uniforms in memory of Mike Haynes, a recruit that was murdered in his hometown of Chicago in July. …The Gaels, from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, are 1-4 away from home, losing its only true road game by two points at Saint Peters. Georgia is 2-1 all-time against MAAC schools.
