Georgia volleyball team members Nicole Choi and Kathleen Gates were honored Tuesday for their accomplishments off the court and in the classroom.

Choi received the E.X.C.E.L. Award, which honors junior and senior multicultural and international students who have maintained a standard of academic and extracurricular excellence during their college careers. Choi is a Southeastern Conference Honor Roll students who has also been recognized on the Dean’s List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Gates was honored as a Peach of an Athlete by the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Gates has served as team capitan of the volleyballk team for the past two seasons and has recorded 3,518 assists, which ranks sixth-most in school history.
