Georgia landed seven athletes on the All-Southeastern Conference Coaches’ Football Team released Tuesday, including four first-team selections, and two have been named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
Tight end Orson Charles and offensive lineman Cordy Glenn were named first-team offense members and linebacker Jarvis Jones and defensive back Bacarri Rambo were first-team defensive picks.
Second-team members include quarterback Aaron Murray, center Ben Jones and defensive back Brandon Boykin.
A Georgia press release reports tailback Isaiah Crowell and wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell are members of the SEC All-Freshman Team but does not indicate where they placed in the voting. The freshman team lineup is slated to be released Thursday.
The Associated Press All-SEC team, announced Monday, included Glenn, Charles, Jones and Rambo on its first team, Jones and Murray on its second team and punter Drew Butler in the honorable mention category with Crowell named the SEC Freshman of the Year. Additionally, Jones and Charles were named first-team members of the American Football Coaches Association All-America Team on Monday.
The Bulldogs could land even more awards this week as the coaches’ All-SEC individual award winners will be announced Wednesday.
No. 18 Georgia (10-3, 7-1 SEC) next plays against No. 12 Michigan State (10-3, 7-1 Big Ten) in the Outback Bowl at 1 p.m. on Jan. 2 in Tampa, Fla.
