“I have committed to Georgia,” Josh Cardiello told Scout.com. “Georgia is the best fit for me in every aspect. I like the opportunities I will have there. I get along with the coaches great. It is not far from home, and it just felt right for me when I was there.”

The addition of Cardiello to the Bulldogs’ commitment list ties them with Florida at 16 commits for the 2013 class — most in the SEC. Cardiello’s commitment moved Georgia up from seventh to sixth in Scout.com’s 2013 national recruiting rankings — behind Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida and Ohio State.

The Buford lineman picked Georgia over a slew of schools including Florida, Florida State, Nebraska and South Carolina.

“It feels good to have it over with now,” he told Scout.com. “I will now be about to focus on the season at Buford and try to win my third state championship. I will be moving to Georgia in January, and I want to go in as a state champion.”

Cardiello is considered a three-star prospect by Scout.com and the No. 3 center in the country. He is the second offensive line prospect to commit to Georgia’s for the class of 2013.
