Blog: Grantham’s Louisville salary: $975,000

Todd Grantham isn’t quite the $1 million man just yet.

Yes, the former Georgia defensive coordinator got a hefty increase in salary of $125,000 when he left Athens for Louisville, but the reports at the time that he would be making a guaranteed $1 million a year appear to be a little high.

Grantham actually is making $975,000 in salary, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal, which got the figure in an open-records request. It reports Grantham could earn an additional $487,000 in bonuses.

Grantham’s buyout at Louisville is much larger than he had when he left Georgia. He would owe $250,000 if he were to leave in 2015. Georgia said his buyout was about $5,000, but it is listed as $3,750 by the Courier-Journal.
