Big Ten team not worried about SEC

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Pelini downplayed the Big Ten vs. SEC bowl matchups. There are three of those pairings on New Year’s Day in the Gator Bowl, Capital One (Wisconsin-South Carolina) and Outback (Iowa-LSU).

Over the last three seasons, the SEC is 7-2 against the Big Ten in Jan. 1 bowl games.

“I’m not worried about that perception,” the Cornhuskers coach said. “At the end of the day, it’s our next game. As far as conferences or what the perception is, I don’t worry about all that stuff. It’s about our football team, our program and I can say this. The way our conference is playing right now, I think the future of this conference can stand up against anybody.”

Nebraska has lost to SEC members Georgia and South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl each of the last two years. The Huskers are 12-7 all-time against SEC teams.
