Arkansas softball team completes sweep of Georgia

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With a 5-3 loss in the opening game and an 8-1 loss in the nightcap Saturday, the No. 22 Georgia softball team was swept by Arkansas.

In the first game, Morgan Montemayor (6-5) was tagged with the loss, pitching six innings and allowing six hits and five runs (three earned) while striking out two. Paige Wilson led the offense with two hits and two RBIs.

In the second game, Geri Ann Glasco (16-3) suffered her second loss of the weekend, lasting only 1 2/3 innings and allowing five hits and five earned runs to go with one strikeout. Maya Branch scored Georgia’s only run, which was unearned, and the Bulldogs managed but five hits.

Georgia is now 26-10 and will host Georgia Tech at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
