LAST MEETING: The Bulldogs defeated the Colonials 52-41 on Jan. 4, 2013, at Stegeman Coliseum. The victory capped a four-game win streak for Georgia, which had lost four of their last five.

SEASON AT A GLANCE: George Washington saw its six-game winning streak halted on New Year’s Eve in a 72-55 loss at Kansas State. The Colonials are unranked but received 37 votes for inclusion to the Dec. 30 top 25 poll. Georgia lost 84-70 at No. 21 Colorado last Saturday night in Boulder ending a five-game winning streak.

NOTEWORTHY: Junior forward Nemanja Djurisic (11.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg) is perhaps Georgia’s top player off the bench and Nemanja Mikic (6.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg), a 6-foot-8 senior from Serbia, is one of George Washington’s top bench performers. … Against Colorado, Georgia shot a season-best 62.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc and shot 50 percent overall from the field, the seventh time this season the Bulldogs have shot 50 percent or better from the field. … Charles Mann made his 42nd career start and Marcus Thornton registered his 36th career start against the Buffaloes. … The only team to score more than Colorado’s 84 points against Georgia this season was Davidson, which tallied 94 points against the Bulldogs in November; Georgia’s best scoring outing of the year came in an 87-56 victory over Chattanooga on Dec. 2. … George Washington’s roster lists players from Argentina, Denmark, Greece, Puerto Rico and Serbia. … The Colonials have averaged 77.7 points per game this season and tallied a season-high 108 points in a victory over Maine on Nov. 12. … Thus far this season, George Washington has defeated Maryland, Rutgers and then-No. 18 Creighton. … The Colonials’ first loss came to then-No. 25 Marquette, 76-60 on Nov. 29 at the Wooden Legacy tournament at Cal State Fullerton. … Mike Lonergan is in his third year at George Washington and has a 34-40 record at the school. … George Washington went 13-17 overall and 7-9 in the Atlantic 10 conference in 2012-13. … Against Kansas State, Keethan Savage scored 14 points and Maurice Creek added 13 points for the Colonials. … After today’s game, Georgia begins its Southeastern Conference schedule, traveling to No. 25 Missouri on Wednesday, Jan. 8; the Bulldogs will then host Alabama at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11.
