Blog: Georgia spring practice report: Day 9

It’s back to the practice field on Thursday for the Georgia football team.

That defensive depth chart from the last time out on Tuesday was already reworked for this practice.

Mike Thornton was working on the first-team defensive line and Jonathan Taylor was dropped down.

Defensive line coach Tracy Rocker said on Tuesday that Thornton had been among the most steady players at his position.

Safety Corey Moore was on the second team, but that probably means little now.

The first-team secondary included cornerback Damian Swann and a guy in No. 35 (yes, I had to look up walk-on Aaron Davis). Tray Matthews and J.J. Green were running with the safeties. This was an early run-to-the-ball type drill so take it for what it’s worth. By the way, Brendan Langley also has worked with the safeties.

Elsewhere, Uriah LeMay went to the ground to snag a pass over the middle that drew praise from receivers coach Tony Ball.

Not practicing today: offensive tackle Watts Dantzler (concussion) and tight end Jordan Davis (sprained knee). Tailback Keith Marshall (knee) worked in a non-contact jersey.

Former Georgia players Cornelius Washington and DeAngelo Tyson, now in the NFL, were on hand for today’s practice.
