2012-13 men’s hoops schedule released

When the 18-game Southeastern Conference schedule begins in January, Georgia will head to Florida. 

Georgia and Florida will play twice, according to a schedule provided to the Athens Banner-Herald through an open records request.

The SEC slate begins at Florida on Jan 9 with the Gators coming to Athens on Jan. 23. Georgia’s other two-game conference opponents are Texas A&M, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. Georgia goes to Texas A&M on Jan. 26 and hosts the Aggies on Feb.9. Georgia goes to South Carolina on on Feb. 2 and hosts the Gamecocks on Feb. 23. Georgia hosts Alabama on Feb.12 and goes to Tuscaloosa on March 9. Georgia travels to Tennessee on Feb. 6 and hosts the Volunteers on March 2.

Georgia will play national champion Kentucky just once and it will be on March 7 at Stegeman Coliseum. 

The SEC adopted an 18-game schedule to facilitate the addition of Texas A&M and Missouri. Georgia will travel to Brooklyn, N.Y. to play in the Legends Classic Semifinals against Indiana on Nov. 19. The Bulldogs will play either UCLA or Georgetown in the Legends Classic on Nov. 20.

Georgia will also host two Legends Classic preliminary games on Nov. 12 and Nov.15 at Stegeman Coliseum against opponents to be determined.
